There are many different fertility drugs which can be used to induce ovulation in an infertile woman, one of the most effective being Clomid.  Because of its history, the drug is commonly used as the first line treatment to induce a regular ovulation pattern in women.  The medication works in the brain where it competes with estrogen and stimulates the pituitary gland to manufacture follicle stimulating hormones (FHS), which in turn aids ovulation.

Trying to conceive stories

I fully believe stress is what was responsible for our infertility. Doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with us other than my husband’s semen sample showed low volume, count and motility. We are young. I’m in my late 20s. He’s in early 30s. We’re classic overachievers which is classic reason for constant stress, and infertility only made us more type A. It was even worse for my husband. He had given up a son for adoption many years ago and had always regretted it.

It take three to 12 months for most healthy women to conceive a child. The period of time when a woman is actually able to conceive a child is actually very small. The key to success is through a greater awareness of what is going on in the female body and how your cycle works. Then you should use that knowledge to your advantage.  Woman trying to conceive may in fact successfully achieve pregnancy sooner.  About  35% of couples could achieve pregnancy within the first three months of trying.  65% of women will successfully get pregnant after six months.

How do you know when your egg is ready to be fertilized? – you might ask.

For some couples fertility and getting pregnant are as easy  as eating  chocolate. Checking your cervical fluid gives you essential information about your fertility. Woman is most fertile five days before and one day after ovulation. Peak fertile cervical mucus is thin and stretchy. Thin mucus makes it quite easier for sperm cell to reach the egg. Periodically clean your vaginal area with a baby wipe. Secretion is stretchy and sometimes looks like egg white. It’s a good signal for getting pregnant.

Certain sexual positions improve your chances of conceiving. Irregular periods can make getting pregnant more difficult so get rid of bad habits like overeating, smoking, drinking alcohol.
