There are many ways a couple can naturally boost fertility, and one of them is yoga. Perhaps you are wondering how can yoga help when couple is trying to conceive. In order to practice yoga and boost your natural fertility, you have to be open to natural remedies such as fertility yoga.

It is great to include your partner in practicing yoga. Exercise yoga as a couple can additionally bond you and it can be fun. For example, starting a day with sun salutation is a great energizing way to start a new day.

One of the reasons yoga can be helpful it is because it’s natural ability to relax body and mind and release stress that is present on daily basis, not just because of regular stressors we have to cope with, but also because (in)fertility itself is stressful and hard on couples trying to conceive. As already said, yoga itself promotes relaxation, but if you find yourself still stiff and unable to relax after few bouts of fertility yoga, or even more, if you find your anxiety levels rise, you should move to a different relaxation technique. After all, yoga can help you only if you find it relaxing and energizing.

Yoga is not only relaxation but also represents moderate exercise and stretching. If you want fertility yoga to be helpful, you need to balance adequate, slow and deep breathing with stretching and proper movement. Breathing and proper performance of yoga poses it essential when performing fertility or any other type of yoga. This is because the idea behind (fertility) yoga is supposed to correct imbalances in the body, including infertility – and this is done with precise breathing and exact body movement.

You can increase fertility with yoga only if performing certain yoga poses that boost fertility. These poses include the following: Bridge Pose, Child’s Pose, Cobbler’s Pose, and Legs on the Wall Pose.

For some couples conception simply happens, while others have to work hard in order to get pregnant. One of the most important tasks for couples trying to conceive is timing their intercourse, ovulation and conception. Understanding ovulation period and timing an intercourse when woman is most fertile is a key to successful conception.

Adopting healthy habits, such as proper diet and exercise, leaving cigarettes, alcohol and caffeinated beverage, is important step when trying to conceive, but even couples with the healthiest lifestyles have to understand and monitor fertility cycles, because they’re most important factors for pregnancy.

Women’s cycle lengths may vary from a 24-day cycle to a 34-day cycle. The following ovulation calendar is based on a 28-day cycle, which is average cycle length for most women. If your cycle is longer or shorter, you may adjust it accordingly). This article will lead you through your cycle day-by-day which may help you determine when you are fertile and ready for conception.

Cycle Day 1 – This is the start of your period (or menstruation). Your reproductive hormones are at low level. This is period when a menstrual bleeding starts.

Cycle Days 1-5 – Menstruation typically lasts about 5 days. Your body is in so called ‘cool phase’ with temperature low, since your progesterone hormone levels have dropped off from your last cycle and your estrogen levels may yet to rise.

Cycle Days 6-8 – Estrogen dominates the cool phase of your cycle, but before estrogen can be produced, the brain and body relay a set of hormonal messages to prepare your body for upcoming ovulation. Two hormones are being released – follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone. Both are responsible for the maturation off eggs and follicle, producing estrogen as egg develops.

Cycle Days 8-11 – Eggs mature and the estrogen production is at full speed. Increase in estrogen should cause changes in the cervical mucus, supporting the build-up of the endometrium and preparing your uterus for pregnancy. Your body temperature will still remain low. The amount of cervical fluids increases, but they’re still sticky and translucent.

Cycle Days 11-13 – If you have a 28-day cycle, you’re getting close to ovulation, which means you’re entering your fertile window. Estrogen levels are high in this period and cervical mucus will start to become clear, slippery and stretchy. During these days, your fertility level is high, even though ovulation may be more than a few days off. The reason why you can get pregnant is because sperm can survive few days in a woman’s body.

Cycle Days 13-14 – The estrogen levels are at their highest during these days. This precipitates a boost in the hormone LH, which causes ovulation. The egg emerges from the ovarian follicle and you are at peak fertility. Since the egg can only survive just twelve to twenty four hours, these few days preceding ovulation are the best period for trying to conceive. Intercourse on the day after ovulation could be helpful as well.

Cycle Days 14-15 – Ovulation has taken place, as well as two-week-waiting period. Estrogen levels drop and your body moves from the cool phase to the hot phase, due to production of progesterone in corpus luteum. You can confirm that ovulation has taken place by seeing your basal body temperature rise. This rise should last through the rest of your cycle.

Cycle Days 16-22 – The corpus luteum continues to produce progesterone. Your basal body temperature remains high. A few days after ovulation, the amount of cervical mucus decreases and it becomes cloudier and stickier. Conception must take place within 24 hours of ovulation or the egg will die. If the egg is fertilized, it begins the trip to the womb.

Cycle Days 23-27 – Unless you become pregnant, the corpus luteum will begin to falter and you may see your basal body temperature temps drop right at the end of your cycle. If pregnant, your body will keep producing the progesterone, and your BBT temps will stay high.

Cycle Days 28 – If you have a 28 days cycle, this will be your last cycle day. Both estrogen and progesterone drop. If you are not pregnant, you can expect to have your period a day after. If you are pregnant, well done, and good luck with your pregnancy.

Every woman has different body – a very unique body, and just as every woman’s body is different, so are the effects of Clomid as a fertility treatment.

For example, some women have virtually no clomid side effects at all, while other women struggle with visual disturbances, hot flashes, mood swings and some even much more serious clomid side effects.

Possible clomid side effects include the following;

multiple pregnancy (twins),

hostile cervical mucus,

hot flashes,

mood swings and emotional outbursts,

abdominal pain, bloating,

pelvic pain,

Upset stomach (nausea) or vomiting,

breast tenderness,

headaches and migraines,

visual disturbances,

ovarian enlargement,

thinning of the uterine lining,

abnormal menstrual bleeding (spotting between periods, heavy and long periods),

increased risk of ovarian cancer,

hyperstimulation syndrome.

Hyperstimulation syndrome is a condition that causes enlarged ovaries and can be very dangerous. In some serious, but rare cases can even cause ovaries to rupture. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome symptoms include upset stomach and bloating, stomach enlargement, sometimes vomiting and diarrhea and even weight gain. For this reason, if you are noticing some of these symptoms, you should contact your fertility specialist immediately.

Approximately 10% of women who are treated with Clomid have twins (multiple pregnancy), which is not so bad side effect if you ask me.

On the other hand, approximately 30% of women have more serious clomid side effect: a hostile fertile mucous and thinning the uterine lining, which means that consequently conception is even harder, since thinned uterine can cause an early miscarriage or can prevent conception, and the hostile mucus can kill sperm.

As much as 13% of women will experience enlarged ovaries, up to 10 % of women will have to deal with hot flashes, and up to 5% will have problems with abdominal pain or bloating or pelvic pain, 2% of women will experience vomiting and upset stomach (nausea), and breast pain, and as little as 1% of women who are treated with this fertility treatment will have to deal with headache and abnormal menstrual bleeding, which also includes spotting between periods, or will experience heavy and long periods. Less than 1% will experience signs of an allergic reaction, such as itching or hives, or unexplained swelling, or unexplained rash, or sometimes wheezing, or difficulty swallowing and breathing.

In conclusion, as with any medicine, Clomid side effects are possible, but not everyone who takes this fertility drug will experience side effects. As a matter of fact, most women will tolerate Clomid well, and most sources claim that even if they do develop clomid side effects, in most cases these side effects will be minor, which means that women will be easily treated by their healthcare provider or won’t need any treatment at all.

If you’re one of the couples that have problems conceiving, you should know that there are various causes for that. Some of them you could change, such as habits or lifestyle, but for others, you may need professional help. Here are few things you should consider when trying to get pregnant.

Understanding the cycle

First you must understand how your body works. Your body is the most fertile just before the ovulation, so knowing when you’re about to ovulate will help you to time the intercourse perfectly. To track your ovulation you should learn about menstrual cycle which lasts 28 days, but may vary between 25 and 34 days. Menstrual cycle is divided into two phases – the follicular phase and the luteal phase. The first follicular phase is the beginning of the menstrual cycle and is also known as the pre-ovulation phase. It usually lasts between 13-18 days. The beginning of the second luteal phase is marked by ovulation, and this phase lasts on average between 12 -16 days. Understanding your cycle and when certain phases begin and end is very important to time your intercourse when you’re fertile.
Also, keep in mind that these could be possible signs of ovulation – slightly increased body temperature, abdominal cramps, breast fullness and tenderness, as well as increased libido.
Best advice is to keep a diary and track your cycle for perfect timing.

Get rid of bad habits

If you smoke, drink or use drugs, these could the reasons that prevent you from conception. Smoking damages woman’s egg and lowers the sperm count. You’re in the same position even if you don’t smoke, but your partner does. Smoking marijuana occasionally and for fun is also devastating, because marijuana is known hormone production suppressor. Moderate alcohol intake probably won’t significantly affect fertility, but you should avoid drinking completely when trying to get pregnant. Taking caffeine is somewhat controversial, because many suggest that couples shouldn’t drink coffee and other caffeinated beverages at all, while others recommend caffeine as a sperm booster, especially if you want to conceive a boy.

Get rid of stress

We live in stressful times, and it’s hard to get rid of it when you’re surrounded with various difficulties in your life. However, when trying to conceive, you should consider taking a break from work and everyday’s stress and going onto vacation. The best destination is mountain where you can enjoy slight exercise such as walking, and clean air. Relaxation might be your best ally. Also, enjoy each moment with your partner. Don’t take conception too seriously, as a hard work or job that has to be done.

Be careful what you eat

Eat a plenty of food rich in vitamins, especially fresh fruits and vegetables. Also, drink a lot of water. Eat food rich in folic acid because it’s important ingredient when trying to conceive. Avoid fats, salty and artificially processed or flavored food. Fresh is better than canned.

Exercise moderately

Even small effort such as walking or swimming could be of great help when couples are trying to get pregnant. Exercise at least 3 times a week for 20-30 minutes at a time. Your exercise should be heavy, such as weight lifting, aerobic or pilates. Men should avoid cycling. Just keep it moderate, to increase blood flow and relax your muscles.

Ask for help

Don’t hesitate to look for help. Many couples got pregnant after visiting the specialist. Sometimes the inability to conceive could be the result of various physical issues, such as irregular menstrual cycles, lack of ovulation, polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, low sperm mobility or low sperm count, among others. Couples cannot know that without professional tests and opinion from your doctor. It’s truth that 90% of couples get pregnant within 18 months, but if you’ve been trying to conceive for six months or more, you should visit a specialist.

Normal fertility is usually defined as ability for couple to conceive within two years. Most couples (80%) will experience pregnancy within the first 12 months of trying, although for some couples it may take up to 18 months. Just 25% of couples actively trying to conceive will become pregnant in the first cycle. If couple is trying to get pregnant for more than a year without success, they could be considered subfertile, being advised to seek help from practitioner.
Most practitioners will not intervene unless it has been more than 12 months since the couple actively began trying to conceive. Also, most specialists will take age of future parents into consideration first. For example, a 35 year old woman who hasn’t conceived after one year has 10% chance of conceiving in following year, while 40 year old woman has only 5% of chance of becoming pregnant.

Besides age, infertility is another common cause of conceiving problems that affects about 1.2 million people in the US, or about 2% of the population. In couples that are experiencing difficulty trying to conceive, the problem lies equally with both the man and the women.
There are various causes of infertility and while some remain unknown, others are linked with certain health problems in both partners.
However, even if couple’s reproductive health is excellent, the average chance for a woman to get pregnant each time she has intercourse is about 20%.

There are few steps that couples should follow trying to conceive.
Having regular sex is the best way to get pregnant. It’s true that sex out of time of ovulation will not result in pregnancy, but couples should have sex at least three times a week because women do not always ovulate when they think they will. More sex will increase a chance of having intercourse within ovulation period, thus increase a chance of getting pregnant.
Also, having sex two to three days before ovulation will increase your chances of getting pregnant, because egg will survive approximately 24 hours, while sperm lives up to 3 to 5 days. That’s why you shouldn’t wait until the day you ovulate to have sex.

Choose the best positions for conceiving. The missionary position is ideal when trying to get pregnant. Avoid positions where the woman is on top, because the gravity will work against sperm trying to reach the egg. Placing a pillow under your hips might be of great help too. Some specialists suggest that woman shouldn’t get up right after sex.

Usually when couples are trying to conceive, sex becomes just a function of reproduction and is not as enjoyable. You should avoid that. You should still enjoy sex as much as possible, because the more relaxed you are, the bigger chances are for getting pregnant. Sexual arousal and orgasm, especially female’s, help sperm move easier toward the fallopian tubes, and similar contractions happen around the time of ovulation. So, you should plan a romantic evening or spice the things up more often.

Worst things that could happen when partners are trying to get pregnant are frustration and pressure. Waiting to get pregnant for months could be stressful and could worsen the chances anyway. Questioning yourself when you’ll get pregnant and what are your chances isn’t productive. Pressure that couples put on themselves only decrease their chances to conceive successfully. Different people need more or less time to get pregnant. 90% of couples need between 12 and 18 months to conceive successfully. So you should be relaxed and patient.
However, if you have not gotten pregnant within a year, you should consult your doctor for advice.

For many couples trying to conceive should be a natural process. However, not everything goes as planed and for some couples sometimes it is hard to become pregnant. Being a part of group of people who find becoming pregnant a hard thing to do, it’s almost not understandable how others succeeded so easily. There are many factors that infect ones fertility and while some are temporary others can last for a long time. Many couple give up trying after the first year and sometimes they end up pregnant out of nowhere and sometimes they don’t. On the other hand many couples are afraid to go to fertility doctor. A study has showed that usually couples wait at least two years of not conceiving to go to fertility clinic.

Infertility induced by stress

There were many discussions whether stress has any impact on infertility. While some scientists believe that stress has an impact on infertility, others strongly oppose to this saying that infertility is a cause of stress. Waiting for a baby for a long time and not being able of having one can really cause many problems in a relationship. For couples that are not able to conceive in a long time, it is important that they have their goal in front of their eyes all the time. Only by knowing what they really want will lower the complications of stress. Still there are many debates in what way stress effects fertility and a chance of conceiving. Up to 40% couples that go through fertility treatments don’t have any symptoms of infertility, and doctors think that the main reason for not conceiving is stress. They are suggesting the acupuncture as a way of reducing stress to a minimum level.

Monthly fertility period

Fertility of a woman is limited by a short period of time and experts suggest that having sex frequently during this period will increase chances of getting pregnant. Having only 30% of chance each month usually it takes about a year for a woman to conceive a chilled, but sometimes this period can last longer, up to two years. There are few ways that you can increase your chances each month, by following and recording all your menstrual cycles. Also having unprotected sex around the time of your ovulation will also help. Many get confused about ovulation being the best time for having sex. After ovulation the egg will survive up to 24 hours the most. On the other hand, sperm lives from three to seven days in special surroundings. So having sex one to two days prior ovulation can benefit in getting pregnant. When woman ovulates her body temperature rises up slightly. By measuring your temperature and recording it, you can have precise day of your ovulation. The important thing is to measure it before you get out of bed. This way you will be sure that you had sex before your ovulation.

It is important that you learn as much as you can about your body so that you are able to detect any kind of chances.

Don’t stress

Don’t put so much pressure on yourself to perform. The stress you create may actually be one of the reasons for your difficulty in conceiving. Relax and have fun! It seems that when relaxed, the body will function better and do what it’s meant to do to aid in conception. If you’re not getting pregnant right away, you’re not alone. It takes time, even for the healthiest couples. Try not to obsess, which will only make the time pass more slowly. Focus on other things — your hobbies, your work, anything you enjoy.

Keep the romance alive

Do something special for each other. Leave love notes or offer back rubs. Tired of the same dinner and a movie? Come up with some out-of-the-ordinary dating ideas. Enjoy yourselves. This is meant to be a fun journey. Conception will occur at the right time!

Try new things

Sit down with your partner and make a list of new things you would like to try to get in the mood. How about watching a steamy movie together? Or going out and buying lingerie or a few new sex toys? The nice thing about sex toys is that they are just for fun. Unfortunately, when you become so focused on trying to get pregnant, it can be hard to have sex simply for pleasure. It becomes more of a chore. Sex toys can lighten things up and allow you to explore new sensations and ways of relating with your partner. If you’ve never tried sex toys before, this may be the perfect time.

Be healthy

If you smoke, drink or do harmful drugs, now is the time to quit. Eating right, getting plenty of sleep can be very beneficial in your endeaver to conceive. Begin taking prenatal vitamins that provide between 400 and 800 micrograms of folic acid along with a healthy diet.
