If you would like to conceive a boy, dr. Shettles recommends couple should have sexual intercourse as close as possible to ovulation day. The reason for that lies in Y chromosomes that are not considered to survive for a long time, but are the fastest. Personally I am not so ‘picky’, but my intention is not to judge anyone: people have their reasons for wanting a baby girl or baby boy and they have that right. This article is about to introduce you how to determine baby’s sex with Shettles Method. There are several others methods that might help determine baby’s sex, however most of them are considered old wives tales, and Shettles Method is considered the closest to scientifically proven, and has 75% success rate. But bring in a bit of healthy skepticism: when drawing a line, whatever you do (except artificial insemination) there is still scientifically proven 50% chance you will be able to determine baby’s sex. How to Conceive a Girl

In a survey that was conducted more than 80% of parents have admitted that they wish for specific gender. In order to conceive only one spermatozoid is needed, but to conceive a girl that specific spermatozoid needs to contain the X chromosome. To be able to do this many people have theories where they are suggesting some rules in order to increase your chances to conceive a girl. We will describe several of these theories but you have to bare in mind that all of this may only increase your chance and does not guaranty you a 100% gender preference.

Trying to conceive stories

I fully believe stress is what was responsible for our infertility. Doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with us other than my husband’s semen sample showed low volume, count and motility. We are young. I’m in my late 20s. He’s in early 30s. We’re classic overachievers which is classic reason for constant stress, and infertility only made us more type A. It was even worse for my husband. He had given up a son for adoption many years ago and had always regretted it.

Don’t stress

Don’t put so much pressure on yourself to perform. The stress you create may actually be one of the reasons for your difficulty in conceiving. Relax and have fun! It seems that when relaxed, the body will function better and do what it’s meant to do to aid in conception. If you’re not getting pregnant right away, you’re not alone. It takes time, even for the healthiest couples. Try not to obsess, which will only make the time pass more slowly. Focus on other things — your hobbies, your work, anything you enjoy. (more…)
