Why would you want to get pregnant with a boy (or girl)? | Trying to get pregnant | Forum

This is my first post here, but I have been reading for a while now because we're trying to get pregnant. I noticed a lot of women ask questions about how to get pregnant with a baby of one sex. The sex selectors seem to want a boy more often.

I am curious why you would want to get pregnant with a boy, or a girl. Don't you want a baby, of any sex God gives you? And those who want a boy, or a girl, what would your reaction be if you got your boy, let's say, but he turned out to like dresses and barbie dolls?

I have two daughters so far, and we are now trying to get pregnant with a third baby. My daughters are very different from one another. The first one is a girly girl, and the second is a tomboy. Being their mother just made me very conscious that personality may be much more relevant than genitals, hormones, or whatever. You never know what you will get from your kids, and their sex is really only just such a small part of it.

I can only say I've been wondering about this myself in all fairness. Especially when it's your first child. If you have three boys already, I can imagine you'd like to have a girl because of the lovely relationship you had with your mom or something weird like that. If it's your firstborn, I guess you're just happy when your firstborn pops out healthy. And even if it isn't healthy you will probably fall in love with your baby all the same.
