Male Infertility: Azoospermia Treatment
Azoospermia is a condition in which a man’s body can manufacture semen but there is no sperm present, and is the leading cause of male infertility. For a man to be diagnosed with infertility there has to have been a period of one year of unprotected sex and failing to get a female pregnant. Unprotected sexual intercourse means forgoing the use of condoms, birth control pills, diaphragms, or other contraceptives.
Azoospermia can be a result of an obstructed or non-obstructive cause, there can either be a blockage of sperm flow or there could be a problem with sperm production. There can be a number of different reasons why a man could experience azoospermia, which includes the following:
- Genetics
- Infections
- Trauma
- Varicocele: enlargement of the scrotal veins and blood vessels
- Vasectomy: surgical sterilization in which sperm production is blocked by cutting, tying or burning.
- Drugs
- Hormones
- Radiation
- Retrograde ejaculation: semen travels to the bladder instead of outside the man’s body.
Male infertility azoospermia treatment can encompass many different things a man must endure in order to be able to impregnate a female. Some of the things a male might have to go through in order to address the problem, could include the following:
- Biopsy
- Blood tests
- Genetic screening
- Imaging tests
- Magnetic resonance imaging scans
- Spermatic venography
- Ultrasonography
- Urinalysis
- Medications
- Percutaneous embolization: done for a male with blocked sperm and frees up the sperm flow through removing the blockage.
- Sperm extraction
- Surgery
Having azoospermia can be very difficult for a man to endure and can make the person feel angry, depressed, fearful and helpless. However, if a couple is experiencing male infertility issues, the best choice to make is to seek the assistance and wisdom of a fertility specialist in order to handle the problem effectively. With all the advancements being made in the world of reproductive medicine, male infertility azoospermia treatment can improve a couple’s ability to conceive and have a child of their own.
Male fertility issues are not as commonly spoken about as female issues are but this does nothing to diminish the fact it exists. Through becoming educated about the problems concerning males and infertility, a couple can increase the odds of conception and in time and sometimes with medical intervention, finally become the parents they have always wanted to be.

Dear Gopan.
I am not a doctor, and even if I were, I would say: go to endocrinologist – (a specialist for a fertility) who will help you solve the problem.
Hello Dears,
Eventhough Azoospermia is termed as impossible state to get cured by modern medicine, the ancient medicines such as ayurveda and homoeopathy has ways to treat it. The success depends on the readiness of the couples in the punctuality of taking medicines and in maintaining the restricitions on the food and habits. Also, the ayurveda and homoeopathy are complementing each other. one is taking out the body’s ablility and one is supporting the body. In ayurveda a special section called “Vajikaranam” is there which deals with male fertility. so go for the combination of ayurveda and homoeopathy treatment. The only thing that we have to remember is that the body is changing when we take medicines. So we have to change the medicine as per the change of the body taking the vata, pitha, kapha situation.
